Annapolis Towne Centre is built on the former site of the Parole Plaza Shopping Center. The new Towne Centre features mixed use with restaurants, retail, office space and residential mid-rise buildings. The shopping center is built roughly on the site of Camp Parole, a Civil War prison that held around 70,000 captured Confederate soldiers.
